Every so often comes a designer whose love of making beautiful objects inspires countless others to build businesses around his visions, or just rip them off. Philippe Starck is known for his beautiful furniture, but his accomplishments go far beyond, into every corner of commercial and residential design. For this, and his unflagging design leadership and ability to push all envelopes and walk a zany path, we salute his accomplishments and look forward to seeing more originality in the coming years.
