Books in the Cupboard
Henry and Creston's cupboard is far from bare as they make great use of a teal-painted pine cupboard to store books, work supplies, and a sound system. The blending of modern furnishings like the Corbu ponyhide chairs and contemporary tuxedo sofa with an assortment of primitives is the hallmark of their studio's decor.

Dive In
A stark modern watercolor study of a female diver is centered above a beautiful-faux painted side table and pottery crock.

Stand in the Corner
A tall corner hutch sporting its original paint is crowned with a backlit house model and flanked by an antique column. Creston's collection of primitives integrates surprisingly well with Henry's modern furniture, including the black leather and chrome Corbu chaise lounge. The dark slate floor covers a radiant heating system, perfect for warming up the studio on chilly work weekends when the couple drives up to Connecticut from their NYC apartment on Sutton Place.

Mod Windsor
A stunning pair of Danish Hans J. Wegner Peacock Chairs are silhouetted against the front room's bank of windows. They're sitting pretty alongside a vintage globe collection and terracotta nymph statue. The oversized red leather ottoman adds comfort to the seating area, defined by the vintage flokatie rug.

Countrified
This corner is a study in rural country charm with its brightly painted yellow side cabinet filled with a collection of spongeware pottery, a handsome New England ladderback chair, a butter churn, and an early oil portrait.

Jeff Koons Alcove
Jeff Koons inflatable dog pictures hang over a loveseat for comfortable television viewing. A cowhide area rug anchors the alcove seating arrangement.

Seeing Red
Two saturated-red domestic scene paintings brighten up a corner of the studio. A Russel Woodard 1950s metal mesh chair compliments the grouping.

Quilted Landing
An open landing perches over the main room of the Neuman-Ely atelier. A colorful quilt drapes over the ledge and contrasts well with the hanging Calder mobile suspended from the ceiling. A vintage bench and braided rug complete the landing along with a desk/workspace (off camera) for Creston's illustration and graphic design projects.

What's Your Sign?
Antique wooden trade signs cover the walls of the bathroom, adding visual interest above the white-painted beadboard wainscoting. Apothecary jars hold goodies ranging from soaps to cotton balls.

Office Chic
Not every office has an Eames chair paired with a Cameroon Bamileke spider web stool -- or contrasts modern art with a primitive storage cabinet and a painted barrel that serves as a fax machine stand.

Top of the Stairs
The studio stairway leads to a bathroom, two upstairs offices, and a large storage room. Good use of display space is gained at the top of the stairs with a specimen cabinet, a country ladderback chair with rush seat, piles of reference books, and an owl scarecrow.
