About Design2Share
The latest Internet Revolution began in February 2005 when YouTube.com launched. Its premise was simple: let anyone join for free and upload and share their video clips. Less than 20 months later, the site sold to Google.com for $1.65 billion. YouTube.com has hosted more than 1.73 billion video views, with 100 million video clips viewed daily, 65,000 new videos uploaded every 24 hours, and over 20 million monthly visitors.
In November 2006, we took the popularity of watching videos on the Internet and applied it solely to the house-and-garden and public architecture content space. The idea for Design2Share was born. Irwin Weiner and Jay Johnson have been working with friends and advisors since that time to turn the idea into a reality, forming an online video library to showcase the do's and don'ts of interior design. With years of experience, design experts Irwin and his senior designer, Nicola Chernicoff, share their insight, tips, and "pet hates" about how people decorate their homes. They are fascinated with what works, how to make your interiors timeless, the traps people fall into when oftentimes trying do-it-yourself projects, and how to train yourself to look carefully at where you live so you can appreciate beautiful design.
We learn from others, and the simple act of sharing the Design2Share Q&A videos and other house-and-garden advice is inspiring, educational, and very entertaining. Design2Share is building an environment where you can share freely, whether you are an avid do-it-yourselfer or a person with a big budget and the appetite to get the best interior possible.
We are also excited about showcasing public design projects that give us inspiration for things we can emulate in our homes, e.g., green solutions, inspiring architecture, thrilling landscaping, and forward-thinking use of outdoor spaces.
